TRAVEL AND ARRIVAL
Round trip airfare is included in the cost of this program.
For Costa Rica students fly into San Jose. For Mexico students fly into Huatulco.
The US hub cities are: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia & Miami. Students not in a hub city have two choices. They can have ISLS book the flight, which may incur an additional cost or they can receive a $400 discount and purchase their own tickets. If outside one of our designated hubs, we will need to have the closest airport departure city. The difference in price of the ticket will be paid for by the parent. ISLS will decide the best flight, departure and return dates and times, airport, airline, class of seating and number of connections. Parents having frequent flyer miles on particular airlines can request that their son or daughter fly on that airline, but the final decision will be made by ISLS. Each round trip airline ticket will be reserved and a seat secured upon receipt of this registration form. Once the ticket is purchased there will be no refund of the ticket price if the program is cancelled. We will send out all information on the booked itinerary as well as any and all restrictions. All students attending the Puerto Escondido camp are required to fly into Huatulco on Continental Airlines. Students purchasing their own tickets or using frequent flyer miles are required to be on the same flight as all other students. Any questions about these tickets or provisions should be directed to Language Link as soon as possible.
Additionally, if the student is 14 years of age at the time of his or her program, they will need to sign up for the unaccompanied minor program of the airline they will be flying on. Most airlines charge between $60 and $90 each way for this service. This price is NOT included in the price of the program and is paid by the parent. If or student when he or she arrives. Students 15 and older are not considered minors and do not need this program. There is an exit tax charged in both countries. Each student will have to pay $26.00 USD in Costa Rica and $44.00 USD in Mexico. This is NOT part of the program cost.
