Samara Beach - Testimonials
"My experience of learning Spanish in a foreign country was priceless. It makes a world of difference to simply be immersed in the language and culture. It greatly facilitates the speed of learning and understanding the language and culture. I learned a lot, about the language and the culture as well. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of being in the language school. Definitely an experience I will never forget! "- Kim Ngoc Ngo, Medical Student, Los Angeles, California
"I stayed with a host family who I became close with, and I made many friends who were locals as well as other students in the program. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone. It was a great experience and an excellent way to learn Spanish and be immersed into the culture as well. All the professors and staff were very nice and helpful and I miss them now that I am back home. I stayed with Damaris Jimenez with her 2 daughters. They were absolutely amazing and made me a part of their family." Student, Nikki Romani, Arcadia, California
"I really enjoyed my time at Samara Beach. Everything was well organized.
The instructors were awesome, very helpful, and really seemed to care about the students." Nurse, Samantha Langford, Austin, TX
"The school itself is lovely. The staff was helpful and the teachers were patient and kind. I was treated respectfully and I had a generally positive experience."
University Professor, Jill Aguilar, Los Angeles, CA
"My experience was superior - lovely small group, my class was outside facing beach. Creative, excellent teacher, gave us all opportunites to get to our next levels and practiced conversation, grammar, prepositions, tenses in just the right combination." - Yoga Teacher, Debbie DePuy, Los Angeles, CA
"This was one of the best experiences of my life. I have already returned twice after completing my Spanish program, and am currently planning my next trip to Samara. Samara is a magically wonderful place. I love it. It has become like my home. I have made so many amazing friendships, with locals and with students. The school is very well organized, welcoming, and fun. I would recommend Intercultura (in Samara) to anyone and everyone considering studying Spanish abroad. All the clases were great, and the instructors wonderful. They are all very dynamic, knowledgeable, and fun. It's great because they really become your friends." - Student, Rosanna Wyatt, Warwick, MA
"I absolutely loved the school. Aside from the teachers, the dance classes and Samara beach campus were the best parts. I also made some amazing friends."
M. Scadeng, College Student, DC
"I would rate my experience as Superior. María, my host mother, was so lovely, so easy to get along with and super accommodating, and she was also a very good cook, especially the sopas. The teachers at the school and all the admin staff were also excellent. I only went for 2 weeks but I really enjoyed the whole experience. I wish I could have stayed longer, that is for sure. The weekend trips were well organized and lots of fun. It was a great school and a wonderful experience completely."
Heather McDonald, Registered Nurse, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
"Everything about my experience was wonderful - from my homestay to class everyday! My instructors stuck to the rules of speaking only in Spanish during class, which was frustrating at times, but necessary. As I said before, they never assigned too much homework and I felt like their use of various props -computers, posters, worksheets, audio, etc - were perfect, and extremely helpful when learning. They moved at a swift speed, but never too fast. I absolutely loved my host family. One thing that I liked the most was our host mom sitting with us at every meal. It made my roommates and I feel like we were a part of the family. Her cooking was amazing and the food was perfect everytime. Our house was very clean and very spacious and we always had warm water."
Katherine Yarbrough, Student, Texas (Participated at both program locations in Heredia and Samara Beach)
