Please carefully check the fees listed by competitive agencies. Even with their advertised discounts and special offers, because they add on other fees (often $100 or more), our total cost will (almost) always be less. Through us you pay what you would pay by registering directly with the school.
Samara Beach - Accommodations
For Accommodations at Samara Beach, you have the choice of an upper level hotel (5 nights included), modest level hostel or shared apartment or the most popular family stay with two meals (7 nights included).
Hotel - Meals are not included in the hotel option, but there are many inexpensive restaurants. The hotel stay starts on Sunday night and checkout time is o
n Friday. You will be in a double or triple room with other students, or you can pay an additional fee for a private room. Each room is air conditioned and has a television and full bathroom. The main hotel used has a lovely garden area and full-sized swimming pool. You may visit their website for a glimpse at www.hotelsamarabeach.com. Please note that if you want a single room you must pay a single room supplement as well as any weekend rates (you must provide a credit card at the time of registration for this option). Please note that this hotel may be filled and another hotel may be used.
HOTEL OPTIONS: Note all hotel options are subject to availability, and none include laundry. Most, but not all hotels have AC and a pool. Please inquire before booking if either of these is important to you.

Residence- Residences (7 nights Sunday to Sunday) are either in student apartments or hostels. Accommodations are usually shared (2 or 3 students to a room) and do not include meals or laundry. They do, however, offer a more independent living situation than a homestay and offer 7 nights. Most residences provide one of the following extras: kitchen access, breakfast, pool, A/C or a private room (you must provide a credit card at the time of registration for this option).
Host Family - Most students choose to do the family stay at the beach, but you should know that these houses are definitely a rural
experience. Your week's lodging is for 7 nights with the host family and includes two meals per day. Houses are simple, rustic, and they do not have hot water (this is not considered a necessity in the tropical climate). You will have a private room, and there are some private baths available upon early request. Water directly from the tap in Samara is considered safe. Many of the houses are within walking distance, and students who live a little farther out often rent bicycles to reach school. Some families rent their own bicycles and other rentals are available in town. Special diets such as vegetarian can be accommodated. If you want to be the only student with a family, we can usually arrange this upon request. The most valuable aspects of the homestay experience are the opportunities to really get to know a Costa Rican family, to make many new friends, and to experience first hand the famous Costa Rican warmth and hospitality.
