Playa del Carmen - Location
MEXICO’S RIVIERA MAYA
The Caribbean coast of Mexico has been developed in a marvelous way. It has dazzling, white-sand beaches, a turquoise sea, and a wide range of bars, restaurants and places to stay. With its exciting seaside resorts, beautiful locales, Maya culture, and fascinating social dynamics, the Riviera Maya offers you a unique experience.
PLAYA DEL CARMEN
Playa del Carmen is the “in” place of the Riviera Maya. It offers everything a Caribbean resort city does, but it has managed to retain a relaxed, low-rise village atmosphere which has nothing in common with the large scale tourist resorts elsewhere on the coast. There is plenty to do and see in Playa del Carmen, and the town is growing fast. But the atmosphere is anything other than hectic, and it is the gentle surf that seems to dominate the pace of life. It is quite easily reached from the Cancun International Airport, only 40 miles away and with the trip taking less than an hour. April through September high temperatures average 97°F with lows of 84°F, and October through March highs average 82°F with lows of 64°F.
