Medical Spanish Program
Through this intensive Spanish LANGUAGE program, nurses, physicians, physician’s assistants, social workers or any student majoring in a health care profession, will develop skills that will enhance their effectiveness in communicating with Hispanic patients. The curriculum includes terminology and information specific to the health field.
In Spanish Language Institute Students may also have practical experience visiting and volunteering in hospitals, rural clinics, homeopathic clinics, orphanages, and other health care facilities to expose them to the health care system in Mexico.
(3 hours of private classes and 3 hours of our regular program)
SEMI-PRIVATE PROGRAM SCHEDULE (Monday through Friday)
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (One to one instruction is in the morning and group classes are in the afternoons)
- LANGUAGE CLASS (individual one on one) -- 3 Hrs. (Grammar, drills and conversation that focus on medical Spanish)
- FUNCTIONAL SPANISH (or cultural)---------------- 1 Hr. (Situations at the bank, restaurant, hotel, post office; Idiomatic expressions, dictation)
- CONVERSATION PROGRAM ----------------------------- 2 Hrs.
