The Academia de Español Quito
The Academia de Español Quito is considered one of the most professional schools in Ecuador. It is a medium-sized school in a well equipped location in the New Town of the city.
You may enjoy having your classes on the rooftop terrace with its exceptional view. It is a well established school of many years of experience, and it consistently ranks high in evaluations. The Academy was founded in 1984 and is registered with the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ecuador.

Accreditations
International Spanish Diploma
The International Spanish Diploma is an accreditation expedited by the University of Salamanca (Spain) of the student's ability to communicate effectively with other Spanish speakers.
Academia de Español Quito is a training and examination centre for the International Spanish Diploma, the most thorough certificate for Spanish, available in various levels and modes:
- Ten spoken levels, Beginner to Superior
- Three written levels: Beginner, Advanced, Superior
- Four specialization levels: Spanish teachers, business, tourism, and health.
Academia de Español Quito is accredited through FIDESCU, (Foundation for the Study and Development of Spanish Culture) which, under the protectorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain, has the mission to promote Hispanic culture on an international level placing emphasis on the different aspects of the Spanish language.
The International Spanish Diploma follows the guidelines for language learning set by the European Community's Frame of Reference and the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages).
The exams' contents are flexible and varied. Diploma candidate may choose the themes for conversation and undertake the appropriate level according to his or her knowledge of Spanish. Likewise, a candidate can choose the mode of the exam: spoken, written, or both.
Sign up for exam year round, at least one month in advance to your preferred examination date.
Advantages of the Diploma:
- International Spanish Diploma holders can display in their resumes or curriculum vitae their proficiency in Spanish, to automatically boost their qualification.
- The possibility for adults of all ages, teenagers, and children (age 10 and up) to be awarded official certificates on their degree of linguistic competence in spoken Spanish.
- Flexible and varied exams; candidates may choose the topics of conversation.
- Candidates may prepare for the examination at any level through any of Academia de Español Quito's learning programs.
- Candidates with a determined knowledge of Spanish may take the exam without a preparatory course.
- Candidates are not required to test for every level in progression towards the 10th level. Instead, they may challenge a level appropriate to their knowledge of Spanish each time


Activities
You receive a cultural program at no additional cost. There are optional classes for group discussion every Monday and Friday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:30. Every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 there are dance lessons (salsa, merengue, cumbia, etc.). Each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday there are optional cultural activities (you pay the cost of transportation and admission).
These include trips to museums, films, local fiestas, visits to indigenous markets, mountain hikes and other interesting events. This allows you full opportunity to explore the many wonders of Ecuador.
When the activities occur at the school, you pay no additional cost.
