In the summer Españolé offer sspecial Spanish courses for students aged between 12 and 16. Thesummer camps take place at a high school which is situated in a quiet area about 15 kilometers from Valencia, halfway between the mountains and the sea, with excellent transport facilities to and from the city of Valencia.

Valencia, as the capital of the Valencian Community, is a city which combines history and culture with the contemporary. It is a very young and energetic city which offers the best facilities to live and study for young learners.

The Summer Camps consist of 3 Spanish lessons per day in the mornings, many cultural and sports activities in the afternoon, accommodation in carefully selected families and various day trips on the weekends.

Thecourses take place at a high school which also offers English courses for young learners. Hereby, young foreign learners can spend their time with Spanish children, and a positive international environment is guaranteed.

The school has 40,000 m2 of excellent installations to offer their pupils: classrooms are provided with computers and many of the rooms also have an interactive whiteboard. A well equipped library, an audio visual room with modern speakers, video and DVD recorders help to improve the quality of teaching and to achieve greater student motivation and participation in class.

The modern sports facilities at the school campus allow the students to practice different sporting disciplines in their leisure time:

LESSONS

Students have 3 Spanish lessons per day from Mondays to Fridays. The number of students per class is small and groups are organized depending on the level of the pupils. The lessons are held by specialists and highly experienced native teachers.

They are based on a communicative approach ad the tasks are planned depending on the students’ needs and different styles of learning. A wide variety of teaching tools such as textbooks, CDs, games, films etc. are used in order to create an interactive atmosphere. The syllabus also includes units on culture and history.

At the end of the course, students receive an attendance certificate indicating the course taken, the number of hours studied at our school and the acquired level, in addition to a detailed report on their progress in each field of language.

ACCOMMODATION 

Students stay in carefully selected Spanish host families. Normally, the families live close to the school.

The school organizes the transport to class every day. Students have breakfast and dinner with the host family from Mondays to Fridays and full board during the weekend. From Mondays to Fridays, lunch is taken together with the other pupils at school. Of course the school is in regular contact with the families in order to ensure that the students feel comfortable and can easily adapt to their new surroundings. Furthermore, the school offers a 24-hour emergency support service.

PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES
 

The program of extra-curricular activities is a fundamental part of the program. It is a perfect compliment to the language course as students enjoy their free time and at the same time reinforce what they have learned in school. All of the sports activities and workshops (such as flamenco dancing, cookery, football, basketball, volleyball, chess, design, theatre etc.) are led by specially qualified monitors.

The programme includes one hour per day of leisure and sport activities (flamenco dancing, Spanish cookery, chess, karate, theatre, volleyball, etc.), swimming every day and optionally extra tennis, ICT and swimming lessons. Every Saturday, we organise day trips to Valencia, nearby villages, leisure parks, the beach etc. which include a guide, a packed lunch and the transport. A typical day of a 14-year-old pupil would be as follows:

TRANSFERS 

Transfer is included from Valencia airport to the school on Sundays. The host family will pick up the student from the school.

Summer Camps take place in July and August. They last from 2 to 6 weeks. Pupils can start the Summer Camps on the following dates:

Arrival is on the Sunday prior the beginning of the course and departure is on the Saturday after the course ends.
