IDEA Accommodations

The school offers three different options to meet students living arrangement preferences:

Host Families

This is the ideal option for those of you who really want to make the most of your Spanish experience. It's the perfect way to get an inside look at both the culture and the day to day usage of the language, and, of course, will help you practice your Spanish outside of class! You'll find yourself in a typical Spanish family, generally composed of father, mother and children, where the parents range in age from 30 to 60. You can either have your own room, or share one with another student. Whatever you choose, you can rest assured that you'll have everything you need for your student life, sufficient space for your belongings and your privacy and independence as well. You can also select how many meals you'll eat with your family each day: breakfast and either lunch or dinner (half board), or all three meals (full board).

Students Flats

This is the best choice for people who prefer more independence during their student life. Like all our housing options, our student flats are centrally located, close to both the city centre and the school. The interior layout can vary, but all have three to four bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room (single and double rooms are available). The kitchen comes complete with the necessary utensils (pots, pans, knives, forks, etc.) and appliances (refrigerator, stove, washing machine). The living rooms are well equipped so that everyone can feel at home - sofas, tables, chairs and television.  There is an effort to mix nationalities to encourage you all to continually communicate in Spanish.

Residence Halls

This option is for those who want to combine the independence of student living with the freedom from domestic chores.

You'll stay in a centrally located university residence hall where your meals, laundry and cleaning are all included. Not to mention access to the common bathrooms and living areas with television. You choose between single or double rooms, and half board or full board meal plans in the cafeteria. As these dormitories serve the University of Granada, you'll mix with students from all over the globe, although this also means that availability can be limited during the school year.
